24/06/06 - Update

I've had a couple of emails already regarding the tool, so I thought i'd answer these questions here for all to see, and encourage others to use the forum or email me if they have queries.

I'm not going to download your tool if it isn't virus checked!

Ok, I probably should mention that the rar file you'll be downloading has been scanned with a completely up-to-date version of AntiVir, so it's as virus free as you can get! :)

Does Oblivion Tweaker fix the issue with 'freezing' when enemies are aggravated, or die?

Nope, but I'll tell you what DOES seem to work!. Firstly, remove your Vodei codecs if you have any. They are bad news for Oblivion. Then clean out your video drivers completely, using a driver cleaner program, then re-install them. Also re-install your codecs (except Vodei of course). Then you should notice a vast improvement :)

I want to get involved in making Oblivion Tweaker better!

Email me then. We'll work something out. Could always use more people to help collect tweaks, and design this tool with me. :)

Why are there so few tweak buttons on the tool?

Because each button may kick off a 'group' of ini changes that are all related, to tweak that setting. Also, as time goes on, more features will be added to Oblivion Tweaker :)


23/06/06 - What is Oblivion Tweaker?

Despite the fact that Bethesda Softworks have created one of the best RPG games of all time, the fact remains that it could always do with a little tweakage. Whether you're running a low end machine without gobs of memory to spare, or prefer to have more control over the look, feel and performance of Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, Oblivion Tweaker is for you.

It takes the manual editing of the Oblivion.ini file out of the equation, allowing you to easily backup your existing ini file, and make changes to the way Oblivion looks and feels.

The product is very much in Beta at the moment, but has been tested with great results. So please, download the software and try it out. Feel free to email me comments, suggestions and the like.
